Our Growth Strategy
Our Strategy for Growth
Do you want to see The Great Commission fulfilled in your lifetime? Then join the movement to see God use ordinary people to reach the world for Christ. At Centerpoint, we believe discipleship is both intentional and natural.
God works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. He first gives a vision to a leader he wants to use. A vision is simply a picture of what God wants to accomplish. Centerpoint identifies, deploys, trains, and supports leaders who have a vision, a heart for people, and the ingenuity to reach them.
A group is born when a leader’s vision is multiplied in the hearts of others. This stage involves growing an authentic Christian community where disciples make more disciples. An average group size is usually 10–20 people. At Centerpoint the primary environment is the small group.
The next stage is the multiplication of leadership by identifying additional small group leaders who start groups themselves. It is important that there be three to four groups in a community before forming a gathering.
Next are informal gatherings of groups who come together to worship, fellowship and serve their community. These gatherings usually range in size from 30–50 people and provide a safe setting for relationships to continue to be forged.
The last stage in the development of a site is a formalized gathering with a weekly public worship service. At each site, the teaching is delivered via video. Supportive ministries such as children’s ministries are established. Leaders keep the focus on reaching out to unchurched people and identifying additional small group leaders and ministry directors.
