What Does It Mean to Follow Christ?
God created us for relationship with Him and with one another. We want to help you connect with Him so that you can grow your faith and discover God’s calling for your life. You may be wondering how a person becomes a follower of Jesus Christ.
Acknowledge and Repent
Everyone is born with a sin nature. Our sin prevents us from having a relationship with God without forgiveness.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.- Romans 3:23 NLT
Believe and Receive
We cannot earn God’s forgiveness—it is a gift. Jesus gave His life by dying on the cross as a sacrifice so that we could be forgiven. By committing our lives and hearts to Jesus, we accept this free gift from God, and are no longer slaves to sin and death.
But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. – Romans 5:8 NLT
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.—Romans 6:23 NLT
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.- Romans 10:9 NLT
